

Founded in faith in 1913, Ferrum College is a private, four-year professional liberal arts institution located on a picturesque 700-acre campus in the foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Guided by its motto, “Not Self, but Others,” Ferrum College provides a student-centered education that integrates academic excellence, career readiness, leadership, and service. Ferrum College offers more than 80 undergraduate, graduate, certificate, and online programs across the arts and sciences, business, education, engineering technology, health professions, nursing, agriculture, environmental science, psychology, and public safety. The College is recognized for its personalized educational experience, featuring a 13:1 student-to-faculty ratio, an average class size of less than 20 students, and faculty who are deeply committed to mentoring students both inside and outside the classroom.
Experiential learning is at the heart of the Ferrum College experience. Students engage in internships, undergraduate research, clinical placements, student teaching, field experiences, service-learning, and leadership opportunities beginning in their first year. The College’s distinctive learning environment includes a 100-acre working farm, hydroponics and aquaponics facilities, a cadaver laboratory, advanced simulation laboratories, and the Blue Ridge Institute & Museum, providing students with real-world experiences that complement classroom instruction.
