Tri-Area Community Health provides health services for Ferrum College students. In addition to medical and pharmacy services at the clinic on Ferrum Mountain Road, the Ferrum College Student Counseling Center partners with the Health Center for psychiatric services. Students are seen in the Health Center by appointment during regular business hours Monday through Friday. Call 540-365-4469 to schedule an appointment.
As a Tri-Area Community Health patient, except in unusual circumstances related to safety, your information will not be released to anyone without your written permission. We cannot provide information to parents for any students over the age of 18 without a signed release form.
All full-time students, staff, faculty, and dependents of staff and faculty are eligible for services provided by the Tri-Area Community Health Center, as are members of the community. An appointment with the provider is handled like an appointment with any medical office. An appointment is required, health information is gathered, an assessment is done, and the visit is filed with the patient’s insurance carrier(s). Payments of co-pays are collected at the time of service.
Sickness Plan insurance provided to all full-time students applies to services when a fee is charged. The Sickness Plan insurance is secondary to the primary insurance. Students should complete the claim form and bring it with them to their appointment. Only one claim form is required per academic year. See http://www.eiia.org/ferrum for details related to the insurance policy and to download the claim form.
